KEYNOTE SPEAKER – Past International Director Sangeeta Jatia of Kolkata, India
Sangeeta Jatia, of Kolkata, India, has been a Lion since 1988 and is a member of Calcutta Midtown Lions Club. She served as the International Director of Lions Clubs International from 2012 to 2014.
An Economics’ graduate, she has served in the faculty at Faculty Development Institutes, Senior Lions Leadership Institutes, Regional Institutes, DG and VDG Schooling of India, and also as the DGE group leader at the International Convention for five years. Sangeeta was the Chairperson for the 2018 DGE Seminar held in Las Vegas.
She was also a member of Mission 30 team, Team 20K, and has served as a GMT Area Leader and GLT Vice Constitutional Leader. She also served as the International Family and Woman Coordinator – a position created to enhance women’s participation worldwide. She served as the Global Chairperson for the New Voices in 2018.
Sangeeta has received numerous awards, including the highest award of the association, Ambassador of Goodwill Award. She is also a Heritage Club member and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
Sangeeta served as the Coordinator of the Indian edition of ‘The Lion’ magazine from 2004-2010. She has worked closely with PID A.P. Singh in setting up the Eastern India Lions Leadership Academy – a web-based training academy.
Widely traveled, Sangeeta has attended numerous USA-Canada Forums, ANZI Forums, Europa Forums, OSEAL Forums, All Africa conferences, and FOLAC Forums – besides International Conventions and ISAAME Forums.
